Certain characters are not allowed in the database as they can cause problems with the search functions of the Program. These characters are known as Reserved Characters.

You don’t, however, have to worry about entering reserved characters because the Program will detect these characters and change them to non-reserved characters automatically. This is done when you Add or Change any information in the database or when you Import information from a non Music Collector database.

These are the reserved characters and the characters they will automatically be changed to: -

You will get a message when adding information to the database informing you that reserved characters have been found and changed automatically. You can disable this message by putting a tick in the box ‘Don’t Show This Message Again’

To re-enable this message select ‘Enable Res Char Message’ from the Format drop-down menu on the Input screen.
