To open a new Music Collector database select New from the File drop-down menu on the Main Menu screen.

The Program will now try to locate the blank database. If the blank database is not found refer to the section, Creating A New Blank Database. If the blank database is found you will prompted to name your new file and specify which folder you want it to be in. If you click on Cancel at this stage the process of creating a new database will stop. If you want to cancel this process then click on Cancel New Database from the File drop-down menu. You can still use this database but you will need to name the database file before you can use it. To name the database file select 'Save As' from the File drop-down menu. After naming the database it will be ready for use. The database name will be displayed at the bottom of the Main Menu screen. All buttons and menus will be now available. To enter information into the database, click on the Add button. Refer to the section, Adding A New Record for more information.
