NOTE: There are two databases, British Number Ones 1952-1972 and Eurovision Winners. These databases are located in the same folder as the Program file. If you accepted the defaults when installing the Program this will be C:\Program Files\Music Collector Database\.
These databases can be opened, by selecting the required database from the File drop-down menu. These databases only appear in the File drop-down menu when using the unregistered version. Both databases have Queries already defined. You can select these by clicking on the Query button from the Main menu screen.
These are the basic instructions to get you started.
The first thing you need to do is create a new database. To do this click on the File drop-down menu on the Main Menu screen.
A message will be displayed informing you a new blank database is ready for use.
You will now be asked to name your database. Enter a name for your database file in the file name box, also select the folder you want to create your file in
Click on the Save button. The new database is now ready for use.
To Manually Add Information To The Database.
Now that you have created a new database the ‘Add New’ button will be enabled.
Click on this button. The Database Input form is now displayed. Enter information about your recording in the boxes provided. NOTE: You must enter something in the Artist box, all other boxes are optional.
To Add Track Information
Click on track one in the track list. The Track Information form is now displayed. Enter information about track 1 then hit enter. You will now advance to track 2. Enter track information for track 2 and so on until you have entered all the track information.
All the tracks should now appear in the track list.
If you are happy with the information you have entered, click on the Add button. This new recording will now be added to the database. Don’t worry if you have missed something or made a mistake, you can edit any information at a later time.
NOTE: if you are only entering the Artist, Title and Catalogue Number, use the Quick Add method to add information. Click on the Quick Add button at the bottom of the screen.

Displaying The Information You have Just Entered
To display the database, exit out of the Input form. Click on the Search Database button on the Main Menu screen. The Database Search screen should now be displayed. Click on the Display All button. All the entries in the database should now be displayed in the grid. To display more information about a particular recording, double click on the relevant line in the grid.
