Each entry in the database can have two pictures associated with it. The pictures aren’t actually stored in the database but their filenames are. When you display the pictures the Program tries to find the picture files at the locations you have specified, if they are found the pictures will be displayed. Problems may arise if you move or delete picture files without updating the database.

The process for adding pictures is the same for Picture 1 and Picture 2. We will use Picture 1 in the example below.

The Pictures screen is displayed by clicking on the Picture button on the Edit/Display screen.

To search for any entries that have picture files associated with them, click on the Search drop-down menu on the Database Search screen and select ‘Records With Pictures’.

Any entries in the database with picture files will now be displayed in the search grid.

The picture options can be selected by clicking on the Picture drop-down menus at the top of the Pictures screen.

Show Picture 1 Picture 1 will be displayed.

Hide Picture 1 Picture 1 is hidden from view.

Show Picture 1 Controls The controls for resizing or moving the picture as displayed.

Hide Picture 1 Controls The above controls are hidden from view

NOTE: The picture controls can also be displayed by clicking on the picture itself, clicking anywhere else on the screen will hide both picture controls.

The picture controls allow you to resize or move the picture within the screen. The arrow buttons will move the picture around the screen. The width and height buttons will change the dimensions of the picture. You can select how much the picture is moved or resized by selecting a number from the list

Selecting Picture Move = 500 will move or resize the picture a greater distance than Picture Move = 10.

Select Picture 1 Filename – this is where you select a picture file. Once the picture file has been selected the picture will be displayed.

NOTE: Try to avoid using large picture files. Each time you open the picture screen the two pictures will be loaded. If you are using large picture files this process may take some seconds to complete.

Display Picture 1 Filename – This will display the picture filename associated with this picture.

Clear picture 1 Filename – This will clear the picture filename associated with this picture.

Restore Picture 1 Defaults – This will clear the picture filename and put the position and dimensions of the picture box back to the default settings.

WARNING: The picture filename is removed during this process.

NOTE: if you want to restore the picture size and dimensions without clearing the filenames use, ‘Restore All Defaults’ from the Utilities drop-down menu.

Remember any changes you make to the Pictures screen whether it’s the picture size or filename, are not saved until you click on the Save or Add buttons on the Input/Edit screen.

Dimensions

There is a drop-down menu titled Dimensions, with sub menus Save and Restore Dimensions.

You can save the current dimensions(width, height, position) of both pictures by selecting Save Dimensions, or use the ctrl +S shortcut keys. You can then size and position any subsequent pictures by selecting Restore Dimensions, or use the ctrl+R short cut keys.
