Whenever you create a new database (by selecting New from the File drop-down menu) the blank database is used as the template. You should make sure you have a blank database ready for use. You can create a blank database by clicking on Create New Blank Database from the File drop-down menu on the Main Menu screen. You must have an existing database open before you can create a new blank database. A blank database is created by, copying the existing database, and then deleting all the information to make it blank. If the currently opened database has a large number of entries it will take a few seconds to create the blank.
When you open a Music Collector database the Program scans to see if a blank database exists. If it doesn’t the Program will display a message informing you that the blank database cannot be found. You will be given the opportunity at this point, to create a blank database.
The blank database file is named BlankMCDB.mdb and is located in the same folder as the Program (exe) file.
NOTE: Any formatting i.e. button colours, fonts etc in the blank database will be the same as the database that is currently opened.
If for Some reason you have deleted or lost all your database files, you can download a blank database file from the web site at www.nofrillsdbs.com
